Christmas
in July Benefits HealthWorks Theatre
GENTRY ON
STATE (440 North State Street, Chicago, IL - 312-836-0933 - http://www.gentryofchicago.com/)
will celebrate with their 3rd Annual Christmas in July to raise funds
for one of the most amazing theater organizations in Chicago as well
as the world. Healthworks Theatre's executive director, Stephen Rader
has made a public plea for monetary support in light of the recent
budget cuts issued to Chicago-area schools as well as the general
economic situation.
Christmas
in July will last the entire night of Friday, July 25th but the main
event drive will occur from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. Mr. Rader and volunteers
plan to get into the spirit of things with Christmas/beachwear costumes
and fun in addition to selling raffle tickets for a bevy of great
prizes.
Kathryn Payne
will perform in the cabaret room from 5:30 to 8:30 pm helping to provide
a holiday atmosphere with both music and holiday crafts fun in addition
to the seemingly out-of-place Christmas decorations and food to be
served.
HealthWorks
Theatre is a touring theatre company providing young people with information
on HIV/AIDS and violence prevention through innovative, award-winning
plays. They entertain young people while serious issues of HIV prevention,
violence prevention, drug and alcohol abuse, suicide, self-esteem
and diversity are presented.
