THE STOREFRONT PRESENTS MARY CLEERE HARAN & REX REED IN "LOVE LETTERS"

Following on the heels of their successful 8-week run of A.R. Gurney's acclaimed play, "Love Letters," The Storefront will present a special encore performance of their critically-acclaimed revival on Monday, October 27th at 7:00 pm at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 1-212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/). Featured in the cast of this special performance will be celebrated cabaret songstress Mary Cleere Haran and theatre/film critic Rex Reed. There is an $18 cover charge, as well as a 2-drink minimum.

Previous performers in the Storefront's revival of Gurney's play include Matt Bogart, Phil Geoffrey Bond, Charles Busch, Kristy Cates, Jim Dale, Jerry Dixon, Daisy Eagan, Alison Fraser, Randy Graff, Amanda Green, Leslie Kritzer, Andrew Lippa, Karen Mason, Tonya Pinkins and Lonny Price.

LOVE LETTERS received it's world premiere on November 3, 1988 at the Long Wharf Theatre, in a production that featured John Rubinstein and Joanna Gleason, directed by John Tillinger. Since then, the play has been seen around the world, including a brief stint on Broadway featuring Colleen Dewhurst and Jason Robards. A cavalcade of celebrities have performed the piece, including Stockard Channing, Swoosie Kurtz, Nancy Marchand, Kate Millegan, Paul Newman, Christopher Reeve, Lynn Redgrave, Joanne Woodward and many, many others.

LOVE LETTERS centers around the intersecting lives of Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa Gardner. Through a series of written correspondence, both hysterical and moving, we come to know both of them intimately - from their strict WASP upbringing, through later life political aspirations, love affairs, military service and artistic ambitions.
