Ludmilla Yazwin Ilieva Performs at FireBird

Ludmilla ("Milla") Yazwin Ilieva will perform songs from her new show "Do Re Milla" on Wednesday, January 29th at 10:15 pm at THE FIREBIRD CAFE (363 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-586-0244 - http://www.firebirdrestaurant.com/). Ms. Ilieva's performance is directed by Margery Beddow, with musical direction and arrangements by Paul Trueblood. Full dinner and snack menu is available after 8:00 pm.

"Do Re Milla" tells the story of some of Milla's antics and of her family of old White Russian nobility, transplanted to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The show includes songs such as "How Does the Wine Taste," "Bower Bird," "Tear Joint" and "Yesterdays," accompanied by engaging anecdotes. Other songs in the program include "I'm a Great Big Baby," and "Whistling in the Dark."

Ludmilla Ilieva received critical acclaim for her cabaret show "Hidden Voices" in which she paid homage to vocal doubles and some of the great Hollywood musicals. Other shows include her cabaret debut "An Earful of Music," a featured role in "Music in the Air" written by Kern and Hammerstein and directed by James Hammerstein at the Lamb's Theatre, "I'll Take Romance" in collaboration with James Hammerstein at The Players, and The Cabaret Convention at New York's Town Hall. Ms. Ilieva has attended The Juilliard School in the Professional Studies Program, The Peabody Conservatory of Music, and the Academie Ravel in France. She is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards and scholarships, including Juilliard's Mu Phi Epsilon Award.
