Muf-Tee
heads to New York - Must close in Sydney November 1st

The
team behind the smash hit cabaret/theatre concept Muf-Tee have announced
a major coup for Australian theatre, confirming that the show will
be re-locating to New York for a limited season, opening at the exciting
new MAMA ROSE'S (219 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-533-0558 - http://www.mamaroses.net/)šon
January 4, 2004. The announcement means the show will close in Sydney
on Saturday, November 1st. It is expected that a return season will
be announced upon completion of the run in New York. Muf-Tee, hosted
by Hayden Tee, opened at the SBW STABLES THEATRE (10 Nimrod Street,
Kings Cross, Sydney - Tel: 9250-7799) in May and has been an outstanding
success, featuring guest stars such as Toni Lamond, Judi Connelli,
Shaun Rennie, Nancye Hayes, Tim Draxl, Kaye Tuckerman and many, many
more.
The concept
provides a unique meshing of cabaret and comedyšperformance with special
guests and audience interplay. The show has gained attention from
New York and initial interest to take the show there was shown some
months ago. Muf-Tee director Les Solomon says taking the show to New
York is a huge risk, but he is confident the strong theatre audience
in the city will warm to the concept.
MAMA ROSE'S
is being called the hottest new cabaret club in New York, with critics
saying the room "has dramatically raised the bar for cabaret excellence.
Muf-Tee will open at the club on Sunday, January 4. Hayden will also
be performing his solo show at MAMA ROSE'S, with performances on January
18th, 23rd and 25th.
