Julie Reyburn Returns to The Duplex With "Inspired By"

2003 MAC and NY NIGHTLIFE Award Winner Julie Reyburn returns to THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 1-212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/) with her acclaimed show "Inspired By" for three Fridays in May, the 9th, 16th & 23rd at 9:00 pm. Julie will be joined by Kevin Merritt on guitar and piano, Ritt Henn on acoustic Bass, Matt Aiken on percussionûand very special guest 2003 MAC Nominee David Gurland. There is a $15 cover, 2-drink minimum.

"Inspired by" showcases Julie's original material as well as music, stories and people that have inspired her to write, perform, and sing.û Other highlights will include songs by New York Songwriter Kevin Merritt as well as arrangements from the pop/country/jazz songbook including Marvin Gaye, Laura Nyro, John Prine, Bonnie Raitt, John Denver and Michael Holland.û

Julie was seen at THE DUPLEX as part of the New Mondays series in November 2002 where she previewed her original music alongside Julie Gold and Lina Koutrakos. She returned with "Inspired by," a full- length solo show earlier this year. As part of the Storefront Theatre, Julie was last seen in the "Falsettos, Broadway Downtown Series" and "Dead Divas."

In April, Julie was awarded the 2003 MAC Award for Best Female Vocalist. She was most recently seen at Town Hall in the World Cabaret Series, "Once in a Weill; The Music of Kurt Weill." Julie will be appearing in the First Ever East Hampton Cabaret Convention in July sponsored by the Mabel Mercer Foundation.
