Celebrated
Broadway, concert and cabaret performer Anne Runolfsson makes a triumphant
return to the cabaret stage in a brand new show, "So Many Stars: The
Lyrics of Alan and Marilyn Bergman." The show will run Saturdays,
March 1st, 8th and 15th at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher
Street, NYC - 1-212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/).
Ms. Runolfsson is one of those rare artists who has enjoyed a distinguished
career not only in the theater, but also in recording studios, intimate
cabaret spaces and concert halls throughout the world. There is a
$15 cover, and a 2-drink minimum.
On Broadway, she is best
known for saving the day in "Victor/Victoria" when Julie Andrews and
Liza Minnelli fell ill. She performed the title role over 120 times
to great acclaim and went on to recreate the role in the National
Tour which began in Seattle and Houston. Other Broadway and National
Tour credits include "James Joyce's The Dead," "Les Miserables," "Cyrano
- The Musical," "The Secret Garden" and "Aspects of Love." Off-Broadway
and Regional credits include "Rags," "Jack's Holiday," "Cather County,"
"A Little Night Music," "Showboat" and "Funny Girl" among others.
She has been affiliated with projects at Lincoln Center, Second Stage,
Manhattan Theater Club, New York Theater Workshop, The McCarter Theater,
The Storefront and Playwrights Horizons in New York City.
Anne has enjoyed tremendously
her work in the concert and cabaret world. She has appeared as a soloist
at Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall (with Tenor Jose Carreras),
Town Hall, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, The National Theater in
Iceland, Rainbow and Stars, The Russian Tea Room, Bay Street Theater,
The PM Room, The Cinegrill and with The Orchestra of St. Luke's, The
Cincinnati Pops and the Symphony orchestras of Baltimore, Seattle,
Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Utah, Detroit and St. Louis. She was awarded
the prestigious MAC Award (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs)
for Best Female Vocalist, and was a Dramatist Guild Honoree for her
work in "Cyrano."
