MAUREEN KELLEY STEWART CELEBRATES THE SONGS OF BING CROSBY

Maureen Kelley Stewart returns to DANNY'S SKYLIGHT ROOM (342 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-265-8133 - http://www.dannysgrandseapalace.com/) with her show, "A Pocketful of Bing" on October. With her Musical Director, Dick Gallagher, and Frank Wagner on bass, Maureen Kelley Stewart celebrates the anniversary of the 100th birthday of Bing Crosby who, according to jazz writer and biographer, Gary Giddins, was "the most influential and successful popular performer in the first half of the 20th century." There is a $12 cover charge ($6 to CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE & MAC members) and $10 food/drink minimum.

"A Pocketful of Bing" features such songs as "Swinging on a Star," and "Too Ra Loo Ra Loo Ral" (That's an Irish Lullaby) from Going My Way, a film that earned him an Oscar, "The Road to Morocco" and "Moonlight Becomes You" from The Road to Morocco, and "Accentuate the Positive," from Here Comes the Waves. Also present are Crosby favorites such as "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep" and "Brother Can You Spare a Dime?," and, of course, "White Christmas," from Holiday Inn.

A graduate of San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater and HB Studios, where she studied with Uta Hagen, Maureen Kelley Stewart has appeared in Regional Theater and on television. Stewart is a singer and an actress, who has been performing in New York cabarets, as well as Chicago and Colorado since 1991. Last fall, she appeared at New York's Town Hall in the Mabel Mercer Foundation's Cabaret Convention, which she repeats in October, and this summer she participated in the first Hamptons Cabaret Convention at Guild Hall. Her debut CD, "Seventeen on Mars," is available in Manhattan at Tower Records, Footlights, and online through Original Cast Recordings.
