KELLEY STEWART CELEBRATES THE SONGS OF BING CROSBY

Chicago-native
Maureen Kelley Stewart pays tribute to the songs made famous by the
legendary Bing Crosby at DANNY'S SKYLIGHT ROOM (342 West 46th Street,
NYC - 1-212-265-8133 - http://www.dannysgrandseapalace.com/),
Tuesdays, June 17th and 24th at 7:00 pm and Thursdays, June 19th and
26th at 9:15 pm. There is a $12 cover charge and $10 food/drink minimum.
With her Musical Director,
Dick Gallagher, Maureen Kelley Stewart celebrates the anniversary
of the 100th birthday of Bing Crosby who, according to jazz writer
and biographer, Gary Giddens, was "the most influential and successful
popular performer in the first half of the 20th century."
"A Pocketful of Bing"
features such songs as "Swinging on a Star," and "Too Ra Loo Ra Loo
Ral" (That's an Irish Lullaby) from "Going My Way," a film that earned
him an Oscar, "The Road to Morocco" and "Moonlight Becomes You" from
"The Road to Morocco," and "Accentuate the Positive," from "Here Comes
the Waves." Also present are Crosby favorites such as "Count Your
Blessings Instead of Sheep," "Brother Can You Spare a Dime?," and,
of course, "White Christmas," from "Holiday Inn."
A graduate of San Francisco's
American Conservatory Theater and HB Studios, where she studied with
Uta Hagen, Maureen Kelley Stewart has appeared in Regional Theater
and on television. Ms. Stewart is a singer and an actress, who has
been performing in New York cabarets, as well as Chicago and Colorado
since 1991. Last fall, she appeared at New York's Town Hall in the
Mabel Mercer Foundation's Cabaret Convention and will participate
in the first Hamptons Cabaret Convention this summer at Guild Hall.
Her debut CD, "Seventeen on Mars," is available in Manhattan at Tower
Records, Footlights, and online through Original Cast Recordings.
