CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE MAC AWARD STRAW POLL BALLOTS SENT OUT

Now that the final nominations for this year's MAC Awards are announced, we are holding our CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE Straw Poll - where members OF CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE can register their votes - even if they are not MAC members. Last year's Straw Poll was only about 50% accurate, partly due to the low number of voters (less than 40%) that took part. Hopefully, this year more of you will cast your ballot.

It is all in fun, and this year we will have a special prize for the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE voter that comes closest on their ballot to the actual winners. All current, paid-up members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE should receive their official ballot by Friday (maybe even later today), and they must be completed and mailed back by Saturday, April 5th for tabulation. (Official MAC ballots must be returned by March 31st).

Please remember that this poll is for entertainment purposes only, and results may not be used in any form of advertising, promotion or other use. The results are the property of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE and may not be forwarded, distributed to or displayed on any other website, message board, chat board or in print media. It is intended for the use of readers and members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE exclusively. It will be posted on the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE website (http://www.cabarethotlineonline.com/) and you can refer non-members there.

Since the CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE membership list contains many non-MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs) members, this straw poll does not claim to be an accurate predictor of the actual 2003 MAC AWARD winners which will be announced on Monday, April 14th at SYMPHONY SPACE (Broadway at 95th Street - 212-864-1414). Nominees chosen as winners in this poll should not assume that they are MAC Award winners or non-winners.

If you are not a member, you are invited to join CABARET HOTLINE and an official ballot will be mailed to you if your membership is received before April 1, 2003. You can receive details on CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE membership by sending an e-mail to membership@svhamstra.com with the single word "membership" in the subject line or checking http://www.svhamstra.com/Membership.shtml.

HERE IS HOW IT WORKS:

When you receive your ballot, place an "X" in front of the name of one nominee in each category. Do not delete or add any names or categories. Pretend you are a MAC member, so be sure to vote even if you did not see any of the shows in any category - just pick one (on a hunch or because you heard good things about the nominee, or any reason at all). But please vote in every category.

Then just send back the completed list, using the same e-mail address to return the ballot that it was sent to - this is your official CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE MEMBER e-mail address - any other address you might use will be rejected. Plus, you can only vote once - any additional ballots received from your official e-mail address will be rejected as well.
