
JOANNE
TATHAM SINGS SONGS THAT LED HER ASTRAY AT THE GARDENIA

Rising
Los Angeles-based vocalist Joanne Tatham will return to THE GARDENIA
(7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444),
the scene of her triumphant cabaret debut last summer with her new
show "Songs That Led Me Astray" on October 17th and 18th at 9:00 pm.
There is a $12 cover and $10 food or beverage minimum.
In addition
to The Gardenia, local audiences have seen Ms. Tatham at The Cinegrill,
The Baked Potato, Ten20 in the Wyndham Bel Age, and Mama Rose in Costa
Mesa. She has also appeared at The Plush Room in San Francisco and
in March was invited to participate in The Mabel Mercer Foundation's
Cabaret Convention in Palm Springs.
A singer-actress
who has worked off-Broadway, including a season with the Light Opera
of Manhattan, Tatham has played leading roles in regional theater
and summer stock in the shows Kiss Me Kate, Funny Girl, Godspell,
Starting Here, Starting Now. Trained at the Hartt School of Music,
she has also studied at the HB-Studio, and w~th master teachers Marni
Nixon, Ron Cohn, Ellie Ellsworth and Wesla Whitfield. Her first CD,
"Making Light," has, even before its release, spawned two songs included
on the sound tracks of high profile independent feature films, last
fall's award-winning Roger Dodger and the upcoming 29 and Holding.
Selections from "Making Light" go into rotation this fall on KSURF
1260 and 540 AM in Los Angeles and San Diego. Tatham is also a finalist
in 570 KLAC's Fabulous Finds competition, designed to provide exposure
for unsigned artists whose repertoire reflects the Clear Channel radio
station's Great American Songbook format.
Tatham will
take the new show, with an eclectic mix of songs ranging from Cole
Porter and Harold Arlen to Laura Nyro and Cat Stevens, to New York's

in November for what will be her New York cabaret debut. Musical direction
is by Ross Patterson and the show is directed by Ron Cohn.
