ZINA
GOLDRICH AND MARCY HEISLER REPRISE "THE MARCY AND ZINA SHOW"
TRIPLE 2003 MAC AWARD
NOMINEES AT ARS NOVA THEATRE FEATURING MAC AWARD WINNER SCOTT COULTER
Fresh
from their participation in Neighborhood Playhouse's "The Staten Island
Ferry Musicals," quadruple MAC Award winners Zina Goldrich and Marcy
Heisler are reprising "The Marcy and Zina Show" for one night only
at the West Side's ARS NOVA THEATRE (551 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-977-1700)
on Wednesday, March 26th at 8:00 pm. The show will feature guest vocalist
Scott Coulter, with Matt Scharfglass on bass & Christopher Sung on
guitar.
The New York-based award-winning
songwriting team of composer, Zina Goldrich and lyricist, Marcy Heisler
are the 2002 recipients of the ASCAP Foundation Richard Rodgers New
Horizons Theatre Award. They joined composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim,
winner of the 2002 Richard Rodgers Lifetime Achievement Award, and
were honored along with the other foundation award recipients at a
ceremony at the Walter Reade Theatre at Lincoln Center this past December.
Cited by the Village Voice as "Best Knocking-On-Broadway's Door Songwriting
Team," their body of work has garnered them many outstanding songwriter
awards including 4 MAC Awards, 2 Bistro Awards, and several grants
for their musical theatre projects.
Goldrich and Heisler have
toured both nationally and internationally performing their music
at some of the world's most prestigious venues including Carnegie
Hall, Canada's "Juste Pour Rire" comedy festival and the Kennedy Center.
Their song, "Taylor, the Latte Boy" was sung by Kristin Chenoweth
on both the Rosie O'Donnell Show and NPR's Prairie Home Companion.
Musicals written by the
pair have played successfully in various theaters and concert halls
all around the United States. "Adventures In Love," a musical revue
written in collaboration with the book writing team of Charlie Shanian,
and Shari Simpson (authors of "Maybe Baby, It's You") , enjoyed sold-out
performances at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in St. Paul
and the Flower Mound Theater in Dallas. Their family musical, "Dear
Edwina" is currently being internationally licensed by Music Theatre
International. They are currently artists in residence at Off-Broadway's
Second Stage Theatre where their show "Allison Under the Stars" is
in development with book writer Susan Kim.
Goldrich and Heisler,
together and separately, have written for Disney Interactive Feature
Animation, and Theatricals, CBS, NBC, Nickelodeon and PBS. CD samplers
and sheet music are available by e-mailing: marcyandzina@aol.com,
and a website is currently in the works.
