The Music of William Finn Show Features Betty Buckley

The Kaufman Center presents its annual Broadway Close Up series, opening on Monday, March 29th, at 8:00 pm at MERKIN CONCERT HALL (129 West 67th Street, NYC - 212-501-3330 - http://www.kaufman-center.org/ ), with "More Infinite Joy: The Music of William Finn." The evening will feature Tony Award-winner Betty Buckley, who will share the stage with Broadway stars Stephen DeRosa, Raul Esparza, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Janet Metz, under the musical direction of Vadim Feichtner, performing songs from Mr. Finn's latest musical "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" as well as music from "Elegies," "Falsettos" and "A New Brain."

On Monday, May 10th, Broadway Close Up will celebrate the music of Charles Strouse in "Welcome to the Theater," featuring interviews and performances by Mr. Strouse and a star-studded cast, including Penny Fuller, and Tony Award-winning lyricists Lee Adams and Martin Charnin and book writer Tom Meehan.

The series concludes with the fourth annual "Bound for Broadway" concert on Monday, June 7th, a showcase of the best new works being written for the theater today, hosted by Broadway legend Liz Callaway.

Renowned for its acoustics, accessibility and innovative programming, Merkin Concert Hall is the recipient of multiple awards for Adventurous Programming, most recently from ASCAP/Chamber Music America in 2002à03. The Hall is a division of the Kaufman Center, which also includes the Lucy Moses School (a community arts school) and the Special Music School (a New York City public school for musically gifted children). A not-for-profit organization founded in 1952, the Kaufman Center occupies its own facility, the award-winning Goodman House, located in the heart of Manhattan's Upper West Side. Through its three divisions, the Center is an unsurpassed cultural resource where people of all ages experience the joy of artistic creation, expression and appreciation.
