JOHN
FLYNN BRINGS BACK TWO SHOWS - PRESENTS A NEW ONE

While
rehearsing for his newest one man show, writer/performer John Flynn
(What in the World, Jaws: The Musical) is reviving some of his old
shows that have garnered him awards, rave reviews and sold out runs.
For those who missed it the first time around, he'll start at the
very beginning with the show that began it all, "John Flynn Sings
Wildly Inappropriate Songs." Next he'll return to his most recent
triumph, "Dances With Pitchforks: Confessions of a Farm Boy." All
of this will culminate with his newest one man show (title currently
under consideration).
For "John
Flynn Sings Wildly Inappropriate Songs," the entire original creative
team of director Tom Mills, musical director Bill Stanley, and back-up
dancers Steve Lavner and Andrew Gitzy will reunite for a show that
David Hurst of Show Business Weekly called "one of the funniest-if
not the funniest-cabaret show I have ever seen." "Wildly Inappropriate
Songs" will perform Tuesday, April 13th at 6:30 pm and Wednesday,
April 14th at 9:00 pm at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC
- 1-212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/
). There is a $10 cover, 2-drink minimum.
Retelling
his tales of surviving the Paper Mill Playhouse production of GYPSY
starring Betty Buckley and Deborah Gibson, "Dances With Pitchforks:
Confessions of a Farm Boy" was proclaimed "a riotous turn that had
the audience screaming with laughter," by John Hoglund of Back Stage.
Joining him as musical director is Steve Lavner, who recently played
the role of "LeFou" in Broadway's Beauty and the Beast. Serving as
director is Jason O'Connell, a stand-up comedian who regularly performs
at Carolines and other clubs across town. Dances with Pitchforks will
perform for one night only on Monday, May 3rd at 7:00 pm at CAROLINES
COMEDY CLUB (1626 Broadway, NYC - 1-212-757-4100 - http://www.carolines.com/
). There is a $3 cover, 2-drink minimum.
And finally,
on Monday May 24th at 9:30pm at the UPRIGHT CITIZEN'S BRIGADE THEATER
(307 West 26th Street, NYC - 212-366-9176 - http://www.ucbtheater.com/
), while sharing a bill with performers Tara Copeland and Michael
Leffingwell, John Flynn will premiere his newest one man show about
his summer working at the sweetest place on earth, Hershey Park. There
is a $5 cover charge, no minimum.
