"OLD
FRIENDS" TO TAKE THE STAGE AT MAMA'S

"Old
Friends," a musical cabaret performance featuring New Jersey singers
Beth Valenti, of Oakland and Jeffrey Norman, of Lincoln Park, will
have its debut at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-757-0788
- http://www.donttellmama.com/
), on Saturdays, November 6th & 13th at 7:00 pm, and Sunday, November
14th at 4:00 pm. "Old Friends" is directed by Jay Rogers, with Music
Director Rick Jensen. There is a $12 cover charge plus a 2-drink minimum.
"Old Friends'
is a lively compilation of popular and Broadway songs, chosen mostly
because they are among the performers' favorites. Valenti and Norman
met in 1982 when appearing together in a production of "Jacques Brel
is Alive and Well and Living in Paris" at the former Playhouse on
the Mall. They appeared together and made their off-off Broadway debut
in a subsequent production of the show at the Sanford Meisner Theatre
in New York City. Norman has also directed Valenti in productions
of "I Love My Wife" and "Working," among others.
By day, Ms.
Valenti is a legal assistant at a Hackensack-based law firm. Mother
of two, she has been active on the New York cabaret scene for a number
of years. Mr. Norman is Vice President, Public Affairs for the New
Jersey Performing Arts Center, with which he has been affiliated for
over 12 years. As an actor, singer and director, he has several dozen
productions to his credit and received a 1999 Perry Award (Association
of Community Theaters) for his performance as Sterling in "Jeffrey"
at the Old Library Theater.
