Sheila Weiler & Jeff McDonnell Sing ALL HART

Philadelphia songbird/comedienne Sheila Weiler and musical director/arranger Jeff McDonnell team up for the New York debut of their new revue, "All Hart: The Life and Lyrics of Lorenz Hart," at DANNY'S SKYLIGHT ROOM (346 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-265-8133 - http://www.dannysgrandseapalace.com/ ) for three dates, April 26th, May 3rd, and May 10th, all shows at 7:00 pm. Conceived by Sheila Weiler, the show is directed by Linda Amiel Burns, with musical direction & arrangements by Jeff McDonnell and produced by Elliott F. Einhorn. There will be a $15 music charge and $10 food/drink minimum. Cabaret/dinner package available including cover charge for $42.50.

Sheila Weiler and Jeff McDonnell will be mining the life and works of Lorenz Hart, from gems such as Rodgers & Hart's "Manhattan" (The Garrick Gaieties) to their later collaborations, such as "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" (Pal Joey). The stops in between will take a delightfully poignant look at the life and soul of this improbable and legendary show business figure ó famed for his social reticence, an incurable romantic, and a diffident drunk!

Lorenz (Larry) Hart, dubbed the "Poet Laureate of Broadway," will be forever remembered for his charm and wit as a lyricist, as well as his longtime collaboration with that other genius, Richard Rodgers. Hart's deep appreciation of language gave him such insight into words and their uses that many of his best lyrics stand apart from their musical context and have a life of their own. Of all the great lyricists to appear on Broadway in the 20s and 30s, it was Hart's ear for rhyme, and his ability to create vivid word pictures, that created some of the most brilliant popular songs of all time.

Sheila Weiler is a polished performer who has been praised far-and-wide for her interpretative skills, her imaginative humor, and her deep appreciation of song. Jeff McDonnell, the one-man orchestra, is an accomplished musical director and arranger who will also be lending his voice to the show.
