JULIE REYBURN & DAVID GURLAND IN NEW SHOW AT THE DUPLEX

Together with musical director Tracy Stark (Leslie Gore, Karen Black, Phoebe Snow), Julie Reyburn and David Gurland showcase their new duo show and their undeniable ability to cross all genres of musical styles by featuring a repertoire from the American Songbook to early 70s pop to Peter Gabriel to Stephen Schwartz. The show will begin its two month run at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 1-212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/ ) on Saturday, October 16th at 9:30 pm, with additional shows on Saturdays at 7:00 pm, October 23rd & 30th, and November 20th, 27thand December 4th. The powerful blend of their unique voices and interpretive style makes for the cabaret event of the season. There is a$15 cover, 2-drink minimum. ($10 cover for MAC and CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE members)

This summer, Mr. Gurland performed a tribute to Billy Joel's 52nd Street album for two sold out nights at MAMA ROSE'S (219 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-533-0558 - http://www.mamaroses.net/ ), as part of their "Under the Covers Series." In August, David played one of the leading roles in Michael Holland's and Adrien Royce's "Believe in Me: A Bigfoot Musical at the NY 2004 Fringe Festival. He received rave reviews for his performance, and the show was the #1 Fringe pick by The New York Times. A 2004 MAC nominee for Best Male Vocalist, critics have unanimously praised Gurland's voice and stage manner.

Most recently, Ms. Reyburn appeared in Africa & Plumbridge - a new musical at the NY 2004 Fringe Festival, which won the 2004 Fringe Award for Best Music Score. In September, she was invited to perform her one-woman show at EAGLES DARE THEATRE (347 West 36th Street, NYC - 212-858-4444 - http://www.smarttix.com/) as part of the 2004 Midtown Music Theatre Festival. In June, Julie's show, "Abbey Road," a tribute to the Beatles' Album, opened the acclaimed "Under the Covers Series" at MAMA ROSE'S (219 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-533-0558 - http://www.mamaroses.net/ ) of which The Village Voice named "Pick of The Week". Julie received both a 2003 Nightlife and a MAC Award for Outstanding Female Vocalist, and was also a 2001 Bistro & MAC Award recipient.
