LAYNE LITTLEPAGE AT EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL

Layne Littlepage will perform her show "An Evening with Beatrice Lillie" at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at C CENTRAL in the Carlton Hotel (Venue 54 - North Bridge - 0870 701 5105 - http://www.edfringe.com/ ) August 15th through 30th at 8:30 pm. Musical director will be Barney Hulse. Layne will be following in the footsteps of the late, great Beatrice Lillie brought "Late Evening with Beatrice Lillie" to the Edinburgh Festival in 1960. To date, the show has played in New York City, San Francisco, Palm Desert, Atlanta, and Charleston, SC, as well as in smaller towns and rather surprising places in the USA. This is Ms. Littlepage's European debut.

Beatrice Lillie was hailed as the 'funniest woman in the world'. Some say she invented "camp". She was a legend in her lifetime. She was the inspiration for both Mary Poppins and Auntie Mame. She worked with musical and literary greats including Noel Coward, Cole Porter, George Bernard Shaw, Irving Berlin, Richard Rodgers, Ivor Novello and Moss Hart. She also married a Lord. As portrayed by Layne Littlepage, "An Evening with Beatrice Lillie" is a delightful hour of music, comedy, roller skates and pearls. Barney Hulse, an accomplished conductor, composer and Musical Director, accompanies Layne, or rather Beatrice, on the piano.

After studying Theatre at university, Layne dropped out of acting to study classical voice, and has sung with the New American Opera Theatre, the Mannes Mozart Project and New York Grand Opera. An Evening with Beatrice Lillie is the culmination of Layne's passion for the great performer's work.
