"LADIES OF BROADWAY" PREMIERS AT LIBBY'S

A new revue, "Ladies of Broadway" opens at LIBBY'S CABARET (3401 Northside Parkway NW, Atlanta, GA - 404-869-4748 - http://www.libbyscabaret.com/ ) on Thursday, August 5th and running through Sunday, October 3rd. The show promises "sixty years worth of the very best show tunes sung by four of your favorite gals." The gals are Kristin Markiton, Shawn Megorden, Lisa Paige and Libby Whittemore, with musical direction and arrangements by Robert Strickland. Shows are Thursdays through Sundays. Tickets range from $25 to $35, depending on day of week, and showtimes vary as well. Check the website for details.

The majority of the songs will be "classic" Broadway tunes from equally cherished shows: Mame; Hello Dolly!; Sweet Charity; Chicago; Bye, Bye Birdie; Call Me Madam; Gypsy. And we can't forget the musical geniuses behind these treasures, like Stephen Sondhiem, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Rodgers and Hammerstein and many more.

IN THE CAST:

KRISTIN MARKITON appeared in three performances of the Cole Porter Revue at LIBBY'S and also took part in the 4th Anniversary party on June 23rd. She's also performed at Actor's Express, The Atlanta Opera, Horizon Theater, Theater in the Square, Georgia Shakespeare Festival, Jomandi and Atlanta Lyric Theater.

SHAWN MEGORDEN has appeared in all of the Robert Ray revues at LIBBY'S: Cirque du Cabaret I and II, Too Marvelous For Words: A Salute to Johnny Mercer, the Burt Bacharach/Carole King revue and most recently a tribute to Harold Arlen, Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Shawn was also seen in LIBBY'S 4th Anniversary Party on June 23rd.

LISA PAIGE is known to stop the show with her incredible voice and delivery on numerous occasions, including her own one woman shows. She is an avid Broadway fan and has a love for this music that is evident when she interprets these classics.

LIBBY WHITTEMORE appeared in the Actor's Express production of Gypsy two years ago, and that experience rekindled her love of Broadway. Now Libby is looking forward to melding the two genres she loves the most ... Cabaret and Broadway, singing some of the best show tunes ever written on stage with some of the best voices in the city.
