ODETTE'S FORCED TO CLOSE TEMPORARILY DUE TO FLOODS

The aftermath of Hurricane Ivan, which devastated much of the Caribbean and several states in the US, dumped so much rain in the area of the Delaware River, which separates New Jersey from Pennsylvania, that flood crests reached from 15 to 30 feet above normal! THE CABARET at Odette's (South River Road, New Hope, PA - 215-862-3000 - http://www.bobegan.net/Odettes.html), which is situated right on the river, was flooded, with several feet of water actually in the cabaret room.

With plenty of warning, the owners and workers were able to move the pianos and much of the equipment to "higher ground" but the result of several days of water soaking the structure will mean several weeks - and maybe months of cleanup before this landmark restaurant/cabaret can reopen. Meantime, all cabaret shows and open-mic events have been put on hold. We will try to have an update on the anticipated reopening date soon.

Here's the latest from Bob Egan, booking manager at THE CABARET at Odette's (South River Road, New Hope, PA - 215-862-3000 - http://www.bobegan.net/Odettes.html):

Workers are working overtime and as fast as possible to get the club reopened. They are still planning to open for Ann Hampton Callaway's show, as promised, on October 29th. Do check the web site for more information and updates. Ann's Friday and Saturday shows have been sold out since early September, but that seats remain available for her Sunday show.

Sharon McNight's show scheduled for October 22nd, 23rd, and 24th as well as Michael Kelly's for the 24th WILL take place, but are being relocated to TRIUMPH BREWERY (Union Camp Center, Bridge Street, New Hope, PA). Existing reservations for those shows till be contacted, and moved to the reservation book at Triumph. Showtimes are 7:30 pm for Sharon's Friday and Sunday show, and 5:30 pm for her Saturday show with a $22.50 Cover, $10 food/drink minimum. Michael Richard Kelly's show will be at Triumph on Sunday, October 24th at 2pm. $20 cover/$10 food or drink Minimum. For Reservations, call the ODETTE'S reservation line at 215-862-8300. All other shows in October, other than Ann Hampton Callaway, will be rescheduled for a later date, most likely in 2005.
