Lisa Faith Phillips at DILLONS in July

"7 1/2 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE MISTRESSES" returns to DILLON'S (245 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-307-9797 - http://www.dillonslounge.com/ - Tix: http://www.smarttix.com/ or call 212-868-4444) in July with shows on Thursdays, the 8th, 15th and 22nd at 8:30 pm. Written and performed by Lisa Faith Phillips the show features original music and musical direction by Ellen Mandel. The show hilariously explores our quest for romance, love and security. Using the format of a self-help lecture by Dr. Faith, Phillips takes us through the entertaining habits, using witty original songs, comic graphs and charts, maracas and a riding crop to punctuate her outrageously funny observations. There is a $20 cover, 2-drink minimum. ($10 cover for members of MAC or CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE.)

Drawing on her colorful experiences, including working as a stripper to pay her way through graduate school at the London School of Economics, and her background in stand-up comedy and music, Lisa Faith Phillips weaves humor and songs into a clever, thought-provoking and ultimately touching show. Part comedy, part cabaret, part one-woman theater piece, it all adds up to an evening of sophisticated, fun entertainment.

The performance features original songs by Phillips and Mandel from the winning anthem "How to Be a Bad Girl" to the hilarious "Help Me Dr. Faith" and "She Can Not Get Enough" plus Ellen's touching ballad "Wasn't Such a Big Affair" and her bring-down-the-house blues "Smile When You Say Good-bye". Witty reinterpretations of American standards such as a sing-along of "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" by Jule Styne and a clever twist on Porter's "Everytime We Say Good-bye" top off the evening.
