Vocalist Ilene Reid will preent her cabaret show "That's Life!" at LE DOME at The Manor (111 Prospect Avenue, West Orange, NJ - 973-731-2360 - http://themanorrestaurant.com/ ) on Thursday, May 13th at 9:00 pm as part of the club's Cabaret Soiree series. Wait-list "show only" seats are available at $35 per person.

Ilene Reid has performed all over the United States, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Nashville. She is currently the featured vocalist with The Uptown Jazz Orchestra, a Manhattan-based big band, and performs regularly in the New York Athletic Club Ballroom on Central Park South. In addition to performing live, she also has studio, jingle and demo experience.

She was nominated for several Outstanding Female Jazz Vocalist awards by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and also nominated for a Chicago Jefferson Award (the Chicago equivalent of the Tony Award) for her performance in the cast of Vices. Ilene is one of the writers of the musical Vices, which was nominated for 8 Chicago Jefferson Awards, including "Best New Work." Vices had its second commercial production in Minneapolis and plans are underway for a New York production. Her newest musical comedy, Bingo, premiered at the Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities in California; had a long run at The Ordway in Minneapolis; and just completed a great run at the Adirondack Theatre Festival last summer. The show-stopping number "Throw That Girl Around," written by Ms. Reid with Michael Heitzman and Everett Bradley, was featured in the Broadway musical Swing! and also garnered her a Grammy nomination for the original cast recording on Sony Classics. The number was featured on the Network Broadcast of the Tony Awards, Good Morning America, and on The Rosie O'Donnell Show.

In addition to the theatre, her music has appeared in several independent films and industrials. Her song "Dinosaur Swing" can be heard on the children's recording Sing Me A Story, by Bob McGrath of Sesame Street. More recently, "Whadify," co-written with Everett Bradley was featured in the premier episode of Dawson's Creek on the WB Network. With writing partner Michael Heitzman, Ms. Reid wrote a song for the cast of Gypsy!, starring Bernadette Peters, for the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids Christmas album, Carols for a Cure. In addition to an episode for the NBC television series Just Deal, Ilene and Michael are developing Scott Free, an original series, with Barbra Streisand's production company, Barwood. Scott Free was sold to Paramount Productions last year.
