"Silly String Theory" Appearing At Rose's Turn

The comedy group Silly String Theory will perform at UPSTAIRS AT ROSE'S TURN (55 Grove Street, NYC - 1-212-366-5438- http://www.rosesturn.com/ ) on Fridays April 16th & May 7th & 21st at 7:00 pm. Laurence Rothman, creator, producer and director of Silly String Theory has put together the finest, most innovative talent in short form comedy improv, elevating this theater form to a new level in cabaret performance. In addition to Mr. Rothman, the cast includes Amy Daulton, Aino Dubrowsky, Tracie Paul, Andrew Preston, David Slone & Lillian Wasserman. Admission is $8 and there is a 2-drink minimum.

Silly String Theory will never go stale because every show is different. New games, character monologues and parody songs are constantly being tried out and created. As a troupe they share each others experiences along the way, even taking turns to lead and teach rehearsals. Silly Sting Theory is a true community where everyone has their say as to how a show will go.

About the Cast:

Laurence Rothman has appeared as Bob Cratchit and Fezziwig in Romulus Linney's version of A Christmas Carol, Sebastian in Nicky Silver's Raised in Captivity, A Sermon, a curtain-raiser for Sexual Perversity in Chicago. He recently appeared in Twinges From The Fringe portraying 13 characters, with rave reviews in Uber and BackStage. He is currently teaching comedy improv for the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts. He has studied with Gotham City, Elizabeth Browning and has performed at Don't Tell Mama, Carolines, New York Comedy Club and many other venues around the city.

Amy Daulton recently moved to New York City by way of Los Angeles. While in LA, she performed in the sketch group "The Mohos" which included Fred Willard, Joanne Worley, and Lou Wagner. Amy performs alongside Rachel Arieff in "How to be Happy All the Time", a cabaret show that started in Los Angeles, and is touring Europe summer of 2004. She can be seen now in "Shamoo", a two person show, as well as, dabbling a bit into standup comedy. Amy has studied with The Groundlings, UCB, and Armando Diaz.

Aino Sofia Dubrawsky, actress and playwright, has worked in Theatre, Film, TV, Radio and has been preforming comedy Improv for several years. A long term member of the 'Ha'penny Bridge Improv Troupe' in Dublin, Ireland, brought her to preform at the International Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival. Along with various sketch comedy shows, she was also a member of Comedysportz. Originally from Portland, OR, she has preformed in Ireland, Germany, Finland, and has recently relocated to NYC.

Tracie Paul performed with ComedySportz in San Jose, California for 6 years. During that time she was also an improv instructor for many corporations in the Silicon Valley. Before that she was Enterainment Director and Choreographer with Club Med for 3 years, producing shows at 6 of their resorts in the Caribean and North America.

Andrew Preston spent the first 28 years of his life in sunny San Jose, CA and finds east coast life to be very disturbing. His acting credits include many quite insignificant plays, one-acts, and short films. He performed short-form improv with ComedySportz, San Jose for three years before selling out for a stimulating, corporate day job. Andrew comes out of comedy hiding to join Silly String Improv in their never ending pursuit of mime-happiness."

David F. Slone, Esq.: Favorite roles include The Savage in Elijah Aron's The Elijah Plays, Reverend Bone in Jack Bump's Sportf**kers and Trixie, the 300 lb. Monster, in Dan Dzindzihashvili's Mr. America and His Russian Courage, directed by Winsome Brown, David Soul and David Levine, respectively. He is proud to be one of the artistic directors of The Times Square Group, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering teens and pre-teens by involving them in the creation of theater, television and film.

Lillian Wasserman has been amusing herself by studying and performing acting and improvisation in NYC for the past six years. She trained both at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy as well as HB Studios. She is currently making fun of modern science in Redshift Productions new Science/Improv collaboration and is also taking part in a political satire debacle on the ritzy upperwestside. She is looking forward to many more fun-filled performances with everyone involved in Silly String Theory, and has been told she can remain in the show as long as she stays a blond.
