LOVING TRIBUTE TO AN ENTERTAINMENT LEGEND AT 12 MILES WEST

12 Miles West Theatre Company (488 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair, NJ - 973-746-7181 - http://www.12MilesWest.org/) presents "An Evening with Carol Channing" starring Richard Skipper as its Guest Artist Series continues on Friday, March 19th at 8:00 pm. In this intimate evening with one of Broadway's greatest treasures, Mr. Skipper takes his audience back to a time of clean wholesome entertainment, featuring highlights from two of Channing's greatest hits, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Hello Dolly! All tickets are $20.

A multitalented actor and singer with an impressive and diverse resume (he's played Judy Garland 0ff-Broadway in Live From Television City as well as roles in such regional productions as Anything Goes, Our Town, The Taming of the Shrew and Mame), Richard has skyrocketed to acclaim with his loving, incredibly accurate portrayal of Miss Channing. He summons the legend's spirit, her signature style, and her sense of connection with the audience in his one-man piece of theater.

What Mr. Skipper recreates are Channing's memorable shows in Vegas and on Broadway, in which the diva proved she could do a whole lot more than just diamond-happy Lorelei Lee. Richard Skipper is just as wide-ranging. He recently won his second MAC award for his tribute to Channing. He also won the Backstage Bistro Award and was named one of the top cabaret performers of the year by Cabaret Hotline. He's taken his Carol Channing tribute to Carnegie Hall, Atlantic City (twice at Trump's Taj Mahal, and at The Hilton), casinos in Canada, the Signature Theatre in Washington, DC, and the Plush Room in San Francisco. He also appeared with the great lady herself recently at the Palace of Fine Arts.
