The Center for the Performing Arts at THE DEBAUN AUDITORIUM (5th & Hudson Streets, Hoboken, NJ - 201-216-8937 - http://www.debauntickets.org/ ) opens its 2004-2005 season on Saturday, September 18th at 8:00 pm with a musical tour-de-force, celebrating the genius of one of musical theater's most gifted and prolific composers, Stephen Sondheim. Produced and directed by Phil Geoffrey Bond, the musical revue, "Simply Sondheim" will feature special guests, Broadway's own Karen Mason and Jana Robbins to celebrate the music, both old and new, familiar standards and lesser-known gems, of this most cherished American creative force. Others in the cast include Nick Cearley, Brandon Cutrell, Barbara Fasano, Ray Fellman, Robert Intile, Jen Jurek, Marina MacNeal, Marisa Merrigan, Reagan Miller, Phyllis Pastore, Lisa Pierce, Julie Reyburn, Ric Ryder, Saundrea Sanburn, Courter Simmons and Gabrielle Stravelli. Tickets are $15.

Karen Mason was an original cast member of "Mama Mia" and "World Goes Round" and stood by for both Glenn Close and Betty Buckley in "Sunset Boulevard." Jana Robbins performed on Broadway and in the national tour of "Tale of the Allergist's Wife" (stood by for Linda Lavin and played the character Mazeppa), stood by for Tyne Daly in "Gypsy" (performed over 40 times) among many other theatrical feats.

Phil Geoffrey Bond is the Artistic director of The Storefront Theatre, and Director of Programming at New York's DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE as well as being involved at The Center with our Hoboken Cabaret Festival, which will be staged in February. The cast includes some of the leading voices from the New York stages of cabaret and theatre, all of who have come together because the music of Stephen Sondheim thrills and inspires them, as we know it will the audience.
