MY QUEER YOUTH with Tom Andersen, Lisa Asher, Bobby Belfry, Phil Geoffrey Bond, Scott Coulter, Brandon Cutrell, Erik Pickering, Michael Stewert and Lennie Watts

The Storefront has announced plans for the third installment of FRIDAY NIGHT STORIES. On Friday, April 30th, Phil Geoffrey Bond's short story, MY QUEER YOUTH will be featured. The series strives to theatricalize short stories, with a cast of singers and actors. Included in the cast of MY QUEER YOUTH are a myriad of performers familiar to the cabaret scene, as well as many performers from the Storefront company. Among the cast: Tom Andersen, Lisa Asher, Bobby Belfry, Phil Geoffrey Bond, Scott Coulter, Brandon Cutrell, Erik Pickering, Michael Stewert and Lennie Watts. Musical Direction by Ray Fellman. The performance will begin at 9:00 pm at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 1-212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/ ) located in the heart of New York's West Village. There is an $8 cover, ($5 for members of MAC and Cabaret Hotline), as well as a 2-drink minimum.

MY QUEER YOUTH is the humorous story of a young man growing up gay in the cornfields of Indiana. From childhood memories of Osh-Kosh-Be-Gosh playclothes, to getting up the nerve to ask a boy out on a first date à My Queer Youth is the coming-of-age tale of a fay little boy carving out an existence in the heartland of America. The featured music performed live during the evening will include compositions by Michael Rupert and Jerry Colker, Stephen Schwartz, Stephen Sondheim and Lennie Watts.

Friday Night Stories debuted in January, 2004, and has since presented I REMEMBER SPRING, and JUST KEEP DANCING, starring Jana Robbins.
