STRAVELLI & LOFTS IN YOUNG AMERICANS: HELP IS ON THE WAY

Gabrielle Stravelli and Greg Lofts will perform YOUNG AMERICANS: Hope Is On The Way, at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 1-212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/ ) on Sunday, November 21st at 4:30pm and Mondays, November 22nd and 29th at 7:00 pm. YOUNG AMERICANS attempts to take a present-day snapshot of the life of a young American. With Director Brandon Cutrell, Musical Director Ross Patterson, Don Falzone on bass, and Tomer Tzur on drums, YOUNG AMERICANS will include special guests Sheila and Terri Barbinski, self-proclaimed gurus of "hope," and Miss Angelina, one of New York's most popular up-and-coming rappers. There is a $12 cover, as well as a 2-drink minimum. $8 cover for members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE.

The good, the bad, the ugly, the hopeful and the hopeless are all explored using songs such as "Have A Talk With God" by Stevie Wonder and Calvin Hardaway, "Fiction" by Joni Mitchell, "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" by J.C. Fogerty, "Mood Indigo" by Duke Ellington, and, of course, "Young Americans" by David Bowie. Other songwriters featured include Irving Berlin, Vernon Duke, Bob Marley, and Andre Benjamin of Outkast.

In New York Gabrielle Stravelli has performed two one-woman cabaret acts at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/ ). Craig Carnelia directed her first, Blame It On My Youth; Lisa Asher directed her second, This Show Has No Title, Just Words and Some Tunes, with Gerry Dieffenbach as Musical Director. Gabrielle has performed at the Director's Company as Angie in Once Upon A Time In New Jersey, in the ensemble of The New Yorkers with Musicals Tonight and as Petra in A Little Night Music at The Human Race Theatre Company in Dayton, Ohio. Gabrielle holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, where she appeared as Mickey in My One and Only and Rita La Porta in Lucky Stiff.

Greg Lofts makes his cabaret debut in YOUNG AMERICANS. Most recently, Greg appeared in Very Good Eddie at Goodspeed Opera House and in Mame with The North Carolina Theatre. Other credits include A Chorus Line (European Tour) and appearances as a soloist with the Cincinnati Symphony and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestras. Greg is a 2001 graduate of the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, where he performed the roles of Mr. Magix in My One and Only and Doctor Otternschlag in Grand Hotel. He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre.
