HAYDEN TEE PERFORMS AT MAMA ROSE'S

The
award-winning Australian cabaret artist and New Zealand native Hayden
Tee brings his solo cabaret show to New York's newest cabaret venue
MAMA ROSE'S (219 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-533-0558 - http://www.mamaroses.net/).
His latest cabaret show traces aspects of his life in Australia and
his native New Zealand. Directed by Les Solomon, with Musical Direction
by Christopher Denny, performances are set for Sunday, January 18th
at 4:00 pm, Friday, January 23rd at 9:30 pm and Sunday, January 25th
at 7:00 pm. There is a $15 cover charge plus a 2-drink minimum.
The show
takes a look at the way escapism dominates our lives-through television,
musicals and movies. Mr. Tee's remarkable mix of comic and serious
numbers is linked by his own unique blend of dramatic interpretation
and comic madness that has brought him much acclaim over the past
twelve months. Winner of the New York Award at the 2002 Cabaret Convention,
Hayden, who is part maori, uses his chameleon-like abilities to take
the audience on an intense and fascinating journey.
Hayden Tee
(Performer), one of Australia's most acclaimed young actor/singers,
hails from New Zealand and has been working professionally in Australia
since he was 18. Most recently Hayden received acclaim for the Australian
national tour of his one-man show, Quarterlife Crisis. He is the recipient
of the 2002 New York Award at the Sydney Cabaret Convention, which
enabled him to first perform in New York venues. He has played the
leading role in the acclaimed play Three Winters Green in Sydney and
performed in musicals such as The Wizard of Oz and Kiss Me, Kate.
Christopher
Denny (Music Director) has served as musical director, arranger and
pianist for such theater and cabaret luminaries as Karen Mason, David
Campbell, Brent Barrett, Steven Brinberg, Julie Wilson, Lauren Bacall
and Dorothy Loudon, plus the opera star Rodney Gilfry. In recent seasons,
he has also performed at Carnegie Hall with Skitch Henderson and the
New York Pops, produced and conducted recording sessions with Placido
Domingo for Baz Luhrmann's Oscar-winning film Moulin Rouge and has
recorded more than a dozen CD's.
Les Solomon
(Director) is well-known in Australia and New York as a theatrical
manager and agent having worked in the industry for over thirty years
as a director, producer, entrepreneur and long-time radio broadcaster
and journalist. His clients have included David Campbell, Tim Draxl
and Kane Alexander. Currently, he represents Judi Connelli, Chelsea
Plumley and Hayden Tee. Les directed the Australian premieres of Relative
Merits, Three Winters Green, Only Heaven Knows and Love! Valour! Compassion!
and directed and conceived the Australian New York Recovery Concert
to aid fire fighters associated with September 11. In New York, he
also directed several cabaret shows including David Campbell's Rainbow
and Stars debut and Judi Connelli's one-woman autobiographical show
Back to Before at Town Hall. Currently, Les runs Lambert House Enterprises,
