
"WHAT
IN THE WORLD" IS HAPPENING AT THE HOUSEMAN

"WHAT IN
THE WORLD," the topical revue by Rick Crom, opens for previews at
the JOHN HOUSEMAN THEATRE CENTER (450 West 42nd Street, NYC - Ticket
Central: 212-279-4200 - http://www.ticketcentral.com/)
in Friday, January 9th at 8:00 pm, with the official opening on Thursday,
January 22nd. The show playes on Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays at 8:00
pm, Saturdays at 2:00 pm & 8:00 pm and Sundays at 3:00 pm. Whether
itÕs breaking news, a hot culture trend, or an interesting celebrity,
"What In The World," directed by Collette Black, takes its cue from
what is happening in the world and sets it to music. The Newsical
Revue is a collection of vignettes including: Anna Nicole, Liza Minnelli,
Tax Refunds, Botox, the Catholic Church, Environmentalists, Airport
Security, Rush LimbaughÕs drug problem, the search for WMDs, and of
course Siegfried and RoyÕs tiger. Tickets are $40 and areon sale through
March 28, 2004.
The "What
In The World" cast features 4 talented performers: Eadie Scott (Regional:
The Pirates of Penzance, A Christmas Carol, My Fair Lady, and The
Music Man), Christopher Regan (Principle Vocalist at Disneyland TokyoÕs
Broadway Theatre, Regional: Hello Dolly!, Evita, My Fair Lady, and
Sweeney Todd), John Flynn (MAC Nominee Outstanding Male Musical
Comedy Performer, Regional: Gypsy, A Chorus Line, Into The Woods,
and West Side Story), and Kelly Howe (Regional: She Loves Me, Always
Patsy Cline, Fiddler on the Roof, and Man of LaMancha).
Rick Crom,
who has provided New York with 7 topical revues in the past 20 years
and currently appears as Tiny Tom in Urinetown, originally presented
"What In The World" as a cabaret show in November of last year and
it won the 2003 Nightlife Award for Best Musical Review. CromÕs previous
productions include "Our Life & Times" (1999 MAC & Bistro Award Winner,
Outstanding Musical Review), "Absolutely Rude," and "The Subject Was
Neurosis." The production team for "What In The World" includes Fred
M. Caruso (Producer), Collette Black (Director), John McMahon (Musical
Director), and Jack Cragin (Set and Lighting Design).
