NEWS ABOUT CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE
CABARET HOTLINE PLANS EVENTS FOR MEMBERS AND FRIENDS IN 2005-2006
Mostly in these news items I report on news made by other folks, but
this time out I have a lot of news that we will be making in the next
few months.
DECEMBER 2005: Everyone is invited to the very first
CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA to be held
at THE ENCORE (266 West 47th Street, NYC - 212-221-3960 - http://www.theencorenyc.com/
) on Saturdays, December 10th & 17th at 8:00 pm. Advance tickets go
on sale, via the website only, later this week, and CABARET HOTLINE
ONLINE members will receive a special advance order form by e-mail
before general sale begins. Phone orders will not be taken at THE
ENCORE until after December 1st. Ticket cost is $20 per person, $15
each for members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE (2-drink minimum applies).
Wait until you see the fantastic lineup of talent that
host/MC Carolyn Montgomery (who had to cancel her annual Christmas
Carolyn show) has signed up for this event! Already signed on for
the show on the 10th are Carolyn Montgomery, Julie Reyburn (she won;t
be able to do her annual show), Lennie Watts & Scott Coulter (they
cancelled their annual show), D Jay Bradley (who has been doing a
Christmas show for more than 15 years and had to cancel this year),
Jeanne MacDonald and the one and only Mr. Ruby Rims (remember TeddyCare?)!
The show on the 17th will feature Carolyn Montgomery, Mychelle Colleary,
Lennie Watts, Scott Coulter, Jeanne MacDonald and once more the fabulous
Mr. Ruby Rims! More will be added to each show in the days to come
- be sure to stay tuned. Santa may appear, but he has requested that
no one try to sit on his knee.
If you pay for your tickets in advance via PayPal you
will be guaranteed seating up to 15 minutes after the scheduled start
of the show. Non-paid reservations will be held only until 8:00 pm
the day of the show, so if you arrive late, your reservation may be
cancelled and given to someone on the waiting list. If you invite
a friend who is not a member, for $30 you can order a ticket/SILVER
membership combo - $15 ticket/$15 SILVER membership - a total savings
of $10 (must be paid by PayPal or check before December 1st). Please
do not make any reservations except via the special website order
page or (for members) in reply to the special order form to be sent
later this week. RESERVATIONS LIMITED TO 65 FOR EACH SHOW.
JANUARY 2006: During the month of January 2006, date
& time to be announced, there will be a FIRST EVER CABARET HOTLINE
ONLINE SEMINAR on "How to Promote Your Show, Your CD and Yourself
Via The Internet." The event will be held at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West
46th Street, NYC - 1-212-757-0788 - http://www.donttellmama.com/
). Details to follow. Tickets will be just $10, $5 for members of CABARET
HOTLINE ONLINE (2-drink minimum applies). Advance tickets will go on
sale via the website only after the 15th of December, and members will
receive a special advance order form by e-mail a few days before. Phone
orders will not be taken for this event at MAMA'S until January 1st.
More details as soon as date/time is confirmed. SEATING LIMITED TO 55
FOR THIS EVENT.
If successful, I hope to be able to take this seminar
"on the road" to be presented in Boston & Chicago in February for
the special benefit of our members outside the NYC area, with additional
seminars to follow. Wish I could take the Christmas show "on the road!"
FEBRUARY 2006: During the month of February 2006, date
& time to be announced, there will be a special CABARET HOTLINE
ONLINE TRIBUTE TO BRUCE HOPKINS to be held at the NYC cabaret
landmark club UPSTAIRS AT ROSE'S TURN (55 Grove Street, NYC - 1-212-366-5438
- http://www.rosesturn.com/
). This event is just in the preliminary planning stage - details soon.
SEATING LIMITED TO 40 FOR THIS EVENT. If advance ticket sales sell out
the room, a second performance may be added. If you worked with or were
directed by this cabaret innovator and talent, and would like to be
a part of this show, send me a note. Each performer will be asked to
present one number plus a short anecdote.
More CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE special events are in the
works for MARCH, APRIL & MAY depending on the success of these first
three ventures.
