JOAN CURTO TO SING OF IRA GERSHWIN AT DAVENPORTS IN NOVEMBER
Cabaret artist, Joan Curto, will return to the Chicago stage in "Of Thee I Sing, Ira - the Lyrics of Ira Gershwin," Thursday through Saturday, November 17th, 18th & 19th at DAVENPORT'S (1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830 - http://www.davenportspianobar.com/ ), all shows at 8:00 pm.

Ms. Curto, known for her lyric interpretation, says she chose the songs of Ira Gershwin because Gershwin wrote lyrics the way people speak. She adds: "That's probably the reason why so many of his lyrics have become catch phrases and part of the American vernacular: Nice Work if You Can Get It, Let's Call the Whole Thing Off, How Long Has This Been Going On."

Accompanied by pianist Bobby Schiff and bass player Stewart Miller, and directed by Ron Cohn, "Of Thee I Sing, Ira," features Gershwin classics including Fascinating Rhythm, Embraceable You, and Long Ago and Far Away.

There is a $15 cover plus 2-drink minimum.
