ANDERSEN AT THE ENCORE IN FIRST NYC CABARET RUN SINCE 2001
Tom Andersen, the 5-time MAC Award-winning singer-songwriter, will
present his new show, "Songs Along the Way," Sundays, November 6th,
13th, 20th and 27th at 4:00 pm at THE ENCORE (266 West 47th Street,
NYC - 212-221-3960 -
http://www.theencorenyc.com/
). It will be a celebration of pop, country and swing, showcasing
selections from his 2004 Bistro Award-winning CD, "Who Knows," such
as "Breezin' Along With the Breeze" and "Ghost in This House." Plus,
Andersen plans to sprinkle in new takes on old tunes (by Rodgers &
Hart) and spotlight his original songs, like "Another Tuesday" (co-written
with Tim Di Pasqua). He'll be accompanied by a band led by Ian Herman,
who's played for Donna McKechnie and Jane Olivor.
Though Andersen has been performing around the country and been
working on his own songwriting and recording projects, "Songs Along
the Way" will be his first multiple-show engagement in New York
since November 2001. Most recently, he headlined in "The Leading
Men" benefit for Broadway Cares at JOE'S PUB (425 Lafayette Street,
NYC - Tele-Charge: 1-212-239-6200 - Box Office: 212-539-8778 - http://www.joespub.com/
), which co-starred Cheyenne Jackson, Jai Rodriguez and John Tartaglia.
He also sang before hundreds at a "Music Under the Stars" concert
with the U.S. Continental Army Band in Fort Monroe, Va. And he will
appear October 19th in the "Cabaret Today" celebration at the 16th
annual New York Cabaret Convention at Lincoln Center.
There will be a $20 cover charge and a 2-drink minimum.
