CCAE IS HOSTING FINAL 2007 "MARCH IS CABARET MONTH" PERFORMANCES
Two contrasting cabaret shows at CAMBRIDGE CENTER FOR ADULT EDUCATION (56 Brattle Street, Cambridge, MA - 617-547-6789 - Ext. 1 - http://www.ccae.org/ ) on Friday, March 30th, form the grand finale of a month-long series of concerts presented by the Boston Association of Cabaret Artists as part of its annual "March is Cabaret Month" Celebration. Then, on Sunday evening April 1st from 7:00 to 10:00 pm, 12 performers will present individual 15 minute performances.

At 7:30 pm on the 31st, the melodic duo of Jay Uhler and Elsa Powel, both members of the Board of Directors of BACA (Boston Association of Cabaret Artists - http://www.bostoncabaret.com/ ), will perform "The Harmony of Life," which combines contemporary tunes and classic cabaret standards to reflect on and highlight the challenging and beautiful passages of life. From serious to humorous, their solos and duets will make the audience's hearts sing. They will be accompanied by pianist/composer/vocal teacher Joe Della Penna.

Immediately at 8:30 pm, singer/songwriter B. Iris Tanner, who is also a cat show judge for the Cat Fanciers' Association, collaborates with pianist Doug Hammer (who is owned by a dog) on "Animal Instincts: A Critter Cabaret," which includes songs featuring dogs, cats, birds, and more exotic fauna by Cole Porter, Stephen Schwartz, Steve Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, Tom Lehrer, Michael Flanders and Donald Swann, and Babbie Green, among others. Several of Tanner's original songs will also be featured.

Tickets for the evening are $18 ($15 for BACA members), include both shows.

A BACA Cabaret Showcase will take place on Sunday evening April 1st from 7:00 to 10:00 pm also at CAMBRIDGE CENTER FOR ADULT EDUCATION (56 Brattle Street, Cambridge, MA - 617-547-6789 - Ext. 1 - http://www.ccae.org/ ). 12 performers will present individual 15 minute acts. The 12 Cabaret Performers, in alphabetical order are: Ellen F. Bagley, David Diamond, Leslie Holmes, Prudence Humphreys, Madge Kaplan, Gabriela Kassel, Phil Kassel, Jim Keating, Louise Koopman Vanaarsen, Ashley Lieberman, Kevin Luey and Joe Della Penna. Tickets are $12 ($10 for BACA members).
