MOSTLY MERCER AT SCULLERS JAZZ CLUB IN MAY
On Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007, award-winning singer Bobbi Carrey debuts her new show MOSTLY MERCER at SCULLERS JAZZ CLUB (400 Soldiers Field Road, Allston, MA - 617-562-4111 - http://www.scullersjazz.com/ ). She will be joined by Doug Hammer at the piano, Billy Novick on sax and clarinet and Andy Blickenderfer on cello and bass.

Johnny Mercer wrote songs for 90 motion pictures, won 4 Academy Awards after being nominated 18 times, wrote six Broadway musicals, was a top recording artist and founded Capitol Records. His output was enormous, spanning the early days of the Swing Era through the mid-sixties rock era. For five decades he collaborated with America's greatest composers, including Hoagy Carmichael, Harold Arlen, Jerome Kern, Duke Ellington, Andre Previn, Henry Mancini and many others.

Nearly every important American popular singer, from Nat King Cole, Rosemary Clooney, and Frank Sinatra to the Beach Boys and Dr. John, has recorded Johnny Mercer songs - from 'You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby' and 'Jeepers Creepers' to 'That Old Black Magic,' 'My Shining Hour,' 'Days of Wine and Roses, 'Skylark' and 'Too Marvelous for Words.'

Tickets are $18; $58 Dinner/Show package available.
