CHICAGO CABARET PROFESSIONALS SALUTE 20th CENTURY SONGWRITERS

CCP (Chicago Cabaret Professionals - http://www.chicagocabaret.org/ ) is pleased to announce its annual Spring series, a 20th Century Songwriters Series to be presented on Sundays in March at 5:00 pm at DAVENPORT'S (1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830 - http://www.davenportspianobar.com/ ). The series will salute songwriters Johnny Mercer, Hoagy Carmichael, Kurt Weill and Frank Loesser, with shows scheduled as follows:

Sunday, March 4th - Out of This World: A Tribute to Johnny Mercer including "Moon River," "Blues in the Night," "Laura," "Come Rain or Come Shine" and many other songs from the movies and Your Hit Parade, featuring Jaii Beckley, Amy Cole, Elizabeth Doyle, Laura Freeman, Jimmy Odom, and Carolyn Wehner. Musical direction by Bob Moreen.

Sunday, March 11th - Heart and Soul: A Tribute to Hoagy Carmichael including "Skylark," "Georgia on My Mind," "I Get Along Without You Very Well," "The Nearness of You," and many other songs from Tin Pan Alley and the movies, featuring Gail Becker, Anne Burnell, Michelle Greenburg, Tim Hairston, Hillary Hunter, Ava Logan, and Layni Katz Myers. Musical direction by Mark Burnell.

Sunday, March 18th - Listen to My Song: A Tribute to Kurt Weill including "September Song," "Saga of Jenny," "My Ship," "Speak Low," and other songs from the musicals Lady in the Dark, Love Life, One Touch of Venus and Three Penney Opera, featuring Joan Curto, KT McCammond, Daryl Nitz, Brad Thacker, MaryMonica Thomas, Robert Whorton and special guest Audrey Morris. Musical direction by James Cebastien.

Sunday, March 25th - I Hear Music: A Tribute to Frank Loesser including "If I Were a Bell," "Somebody, Somewhere," "Junk Man," and other songs from the musicals Guys and Dolls and Most Happy Fella and the film Hans Christian Anderson featuring David Edelfelt, Carla Gordon, Joel Kopischke, Tom Michael, Heather Moran, and Jeanne Scherkenbach. Musical direction by Beckie Menzie.

For each show there is a $15 cover. (Half price for current CCP members with a reservation.)
