GILLIAN KELLY IS LOVE STRUCK IN CHICAGO
Gillian Kelly will present her show "Love Struck : The Songs that struck
me in love!" on Fridays, April 6th, 20th & 27th at 8:00 pm at DAVENPORT'S
(1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830 - http://www.davenportspianobar.com/
). She is joined by Claire Bigley on piano, Hiko on flute and Seth Woods
on cello.
In the show, Gillian performs some of her favorite songs
and the result is a category-crossing combination of humor and sentiment
interweaving jazz (including Nina Simone's arrangement of "Wild is
the Wind"), country ballads, comedy songs, pop tunes (including a
haunting arrangement by Ms. Bigley of "Mad World" with flute and cello,
and theatre songs. Known for her ability to combine wit with warmth
as well as theatricality with sincerity, Gillian Kelly has become
a beloved staple on Chicago's cabaret scene.
Gillian Kelly has had a multi-faceted career as an opera
singer, recitalist, actress, and director. Most recently she directed
"Unchanging Love" at The Artistic Home theatre in Chicago.
There is an $18 cover, plus a 2 drink minimum.
