BARBARA BRUSSELL OPENS AT THE CABARET AT SAVOR
One of the emerging stars of New York cabaret, Barbara Brussell opens
with her acclaimed show "The Piano Bench of My Mind" on Thursday, May
10th and continues through Mother's Day, May 13th at CABARET AT SAVOR
(4356 Lindell, St. Louis, MO - 314-531-0220 - http://www.Savor-stl.com/
). This is her first performances in St. Louis since beginning her career
in the chorus of The MUNY in the 1980s. Brussell has performed in New
York at the Algonquin, Town Hall, Danny's, Helen's, Laurie Beechman
and Sabarsky's at the Neue Galerie. Shows are Thursday & Friday at 8:30
pm, Saturday at 7:30 & 9:30 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm.
As a musical theatre performer, Brussell has played
leading roles in both regional productions and national tours of The
Pirates of Penzance, A Little Night Music, The Fantasticks and Fiddler
on the Roof. Her New York cabaret shows have all become must-see stops
for cabaret fans. She is funny, witty and real, an entirely authentic
singer and storyteller. Both Stephen Holden and Rex Reed recognize
where this smart and passionate performer belongs:
Brussell's show, "The Piano Bench of My Mind", moves
from Rodgers and Hammerstein and Cole Porter to Craig Carnelia, John
Bucchino, and Joni Mitchell.
A three-course, price-fixed cabaret dinner is available
(but not required) before the show for $35, exclusive of tax and tip.
Brunch is available for $15 before the 2:00 pm Sunday, Mother's Day
show. Dinner or brunch should be booked at least ninety minutes before
the start of the show. There is a $12 minimum in the cabaret for those
not having dinner or brunch.
