CCP TO HOLD "BUSINESS OF CABARET" CONFERENCE
The CCP (Chicago Cabaret Professionals - http://www.chicagocabaret.org/
) Education Committee (Laura Freeman and Tracy Adams, Co-Governors)
has announced the first ever Business of Cabaret Conference to be held
on Saturday, November 3rd from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm at MAXIM'S at The
Nancy Goldberg International Center (24 East Goethe Street, Chicago,

). This conference is free to CCP members!
10:00 to 11:00 am GENERAL SESSION
Press and Publicity - How to Make the Press Your Friends
Gain insight on how to get press for your shows, what to include in
your press packet, who to send it to and how, how to follow up, and
other things you can do to get an audience at your show.

11:15 am to 1:30 pm Track One: For Newer Artists
How to Build a Show
Wondering how you pick a theme? How do I find music? What can I do
if I have a recording of a song but have no idea how to get the sheet
music? How do you put it in order? What does a musical director do?
How do I find one? Do I need a director? Is there any music I can't
do?

Here's your chance to ask all those questions you've ever wanted to
ask and get the real low down. Find out how much effort it really
takes and what things you will need to do to make your dream a reality.

12:45 to 1:30 pm Taking Your Act On the Road
This roundtable discussion will give you the chance to tap into your
CCP colleagues who take their shows on tour. How do they get those
bookings? What different than booking in Chicago? How do the contracts
work? How do you make these kinds of contacts? This will be a facilitated
discussion featuring a panel of CCP members with touring experience.
