), which will celebrate 10 months of operation in April welcomes THREE
OF A KIND and Merissa Haddad as its April headliners on Saturday evenings.
THREE OF A KIND is composed of Gelo Francisco, Annie
Nepomuceno and Bonifacio Deoso. They will headline on Saturdays, April
7th & April 21st. This Powerpop trio of stars from the Broadway productions
of Miss Saigon, Passion, and The King and I, present an evening of
spectacular vocal skills and a sense of humor which truly make them
one-of-a-kind! Their debut album Groovapella released by Star Records,
has won numerous awards and nominations for Best Pop Album, Best Vocal
Performance by a Group, and Best Vocal Arrangement in the Philippine
Awits Awards & Katcha Awards.
AN EVENING WITH MERISSA HADDAD will be presented Saturday
April 14th. Ms. Haddad is a dynamic Broadway musical theatre star
who has appeared in such productions as Guys and Dolls, Cabaret, Anything
Goes, Jesus Christ Superstar and the recent west coast Gershwin Brothers
revival of Tip Toes. She was also the critically acclaimed winner
of LAs Next Great Stage Star at Sterling s Upstairs at Vitello's in
November and December, 2006. Ms. Haddad received a $1000 cash prize
and a headlining debut at the club. This not-to-be-missed, first time
cabaret act is directed by former television star and record label
producer Bruce Kimmel (Kritzerland Records) with musical direction
by Steven Applegate.
Three of a Kind and Merissa Haddad will join a stellar
roster of Sterling's headliners which, to date, have included Broadway
stars Kathy Buckley, Amick Byram, Kevin Earley, Ilene Graff (also
co-star of ABC's hit series Mr. Belvedere), and Eydie Alyson; prominent
U.S. musical theatre and theatre stars Joan Ryan, Paul Stroili, Russ
Lorenson, Nita Whitaker, Amanda Abel, Julie Dixon Jackson, Erika Amato,
Robert J. Townsend, Sylvia Brooks, and Maura Knowles; popular television
star Stepfanie Kramer (co-star of NBC s longtime hit series Hunter);
plus concert artists Toni Morrell and Nelson Kole to name but a few.
Seating for performances is at 6:30 pm. and includes
an upscale, four-course, prix-fixe menu which offers three entr e
choices, followed by a one hour show at the value package price of
$50.00 per person.
