CRAIG POMRANZ IN 2-WEEK RUN AT THE GARDENIA
THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444 - http://www.cabaretwest.org/gardenia.htm ) will present critically acclaimed cabaret vocalist Craig Pomranz, accompanied by Steve Bocchino, music director and pianist, in "My Heart Don't Skip A Beat," a 60-minute cabaret show featuring songs of love. The show will be presented on Thursday, Friday & Saturday, November 1st, 2nd & 3rd and Friday & Saturday, November 9th and 10th. All shows will begin at 9:00 pm. Pomranz's show will include popular songs from his first CD, "My Heart Don't Skip A Beat" plus other favorites.

Craig Pomranz was born in St. Louis, MO and began his professional career at the age of 11 modeling and doing voiceovers, working with mentors like, Lynn Cohen (Golda Meir in Steven Spielberg's Munich; Magda in Sex in the City), who taught and directed at the St. Louis JCCA, alongside her husband, Ron Cohen, a director, writer and editor (WWD Magazine), who produces and directs Pomranz's shows and CDs.

Pomranz made his professional singing/acting debut at age 12, opposite John Cullum and Sally Ann Howes, as Tom of Warwick in his hometown with the St. Louis Municipal Opera's production of Camelot. After moving to New York City, he has become a regular/headliner in New York Cabaret/Jazz rooms while working in commercials and doing studio work. He was also chosen as one of five dancer/actors who made a series of national commercials as dancing cans for Coca Cola. He also appeared in a commercial for Brut for Faberg, with famed football star Joe "Broadway Joe" Namath. Showman and composer Peter Allen was a big fan of Pomranz's and gave the singer his song, I Never Thought I'd Break, which Pomranz recorded on his first CD, "My Heart Don't Skip A Beat."

At one time, for more than a month, Pomranz played to sold-out audiences at three clubs at once, including: Freddy's, East Five Three (with guests like Ann Hampton Callaway, and numerous others), and Mickey's (with Cissy and Whitney Houston and Karen Akers). He has also worked with Teddi King, Murray Grand, Cleo Laine, Betty Buckley, and Nancy LaMott, and recorded with Barbara Cook, Kaye Ballard, and Faith Prince.

There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum (no drink minimum for dinner patrons).
