EVAN LAURENCE MAKES SOLO CABARET DEBUT AT MAMA'S
Evan Laurence will be performing his first one man show of comedy
and music at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-757-0788

) on Thursday January 18th 8:30 pm. Evan was the creator, producer
and director of the Silly String Theory Comedy Troupe, where he put
together the finest, most innovative talent in short form comedy improv,
elevating this theater form to a new level in cabaret performance.
Now he takes the stage solo, and even has added several songs to his
comedy repertoire. Musical director is Tracy Stark.
Evan has appeared as Bob Cratchit and Fezziwig in
Romulus LinneyÎs version of A Christmas Carol, Sebastian in Nicky
SilverÎs Raised in Captivity, A Sermon, a curtain-raiser for Sexual
Perversity in Chicago. He has starred in Twinges From The Fringe
portraying 13 characters, with rave reviews in Uber and Back Stage
Magazine.
He has also played a transvestite clown in ChashamaÎs
She Who Burns. He has taught comedy improv at Frank Sinatra School
of the Arts, Cascades High School, and New Utrecht High School as
well as adults at various venues around Manhattan. He has studied
with Gotham City, Elizabeth Browning, voice with David Friedman
and has performed at DonÎt Tell Mama, Carolines, New York Comedy
Club and many other venues around the city including regular appearances
in Character Dog Run at the Gene Frankel Theater and PUNCH! At Galapagos.
There is a $10 cover, 2-drink minimum.
