BOOTH DANIELS IS "UNCONVENTIONAL' AGAIN AT DON'T TELL MAMA
Booth Daniels' cabaret, "Unconventional" rises up again on January
8th at 6:30 pm and January 14th at 9:00PM at DON'T TELL MAMA (343
West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-757-0788 -
http://www.donttellmamanyc.com/
) after it's well-received runs in 2005 & 2006 at both ROSE'S
TURN and DON'T TELL MAMA. Booth is joined by Glenn Gordon on piano.
"Unconventional" is, like it's subtitle reads, "a
cabaret... sort of... ". Branching out into a moderately alternative,
yet hilarious and quirky realm, this musical homage to the somewhat
"socially challenged folk" of this world, combines the cabaret medium
with more of a contemporary feel. The material, while funny and/or
poignant, draws more from the world of pop music and singer/songwriters
(Ben Folds, Randy Newman, Ray Charles), rather than the traditional
musical theatre or standards.
Daniels, a comic musical theatre actor, is thrilled
to be at Don't Tell Mama. He recently completed a run at the Beckett
Theatre in the world premiere of Charles Mee's "The Mail Order Bride."
He has appeared in the national tour of SEUSSICAL, as well as last
year's NYMF and Fringe Festivals. Regionally, he has worked all
over the country, played the leads in THE NERD (Rick Steadman),
THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG (Vernon Gersh), ANYTHING GOES (Moonface
Martin), ANNIE GET YOUR GUN (Sitting Bull), and DON'T DRESS FOR
DINNER (Bernard). Booth is a graduate of Brandeis University and
the masters program at Boston Conservatory.
