CABARET NEWS - NEW YORK CITY

CATHERINE DUPUIS WITH GUITARIST GENE BERTONCINI AT ENZO'S JAZZ
Jazz vocalist Catherine Dupuis will perform with special guest Gene Bertoncini (guitar) and Martin Wind (bass) at ENZO'S JAZZ AT THE JOLLY HOTEL MADISON TOWERS (22 East 38th Street, NYC - 212-802-0600 - http://www.jollymadison.com/amenities_Enzo.htm ) on Wednesday, February 7th at 8:00 & 9:30 pm. Catherine and Gene are pleased to be working together for the first time, sharing new arrangements as well as tunes

Catherine recorded on Rules of the Road (arr. Russ Kassoff), I Hear Music (arr. Jeffrey Klitz) and Moments (arr. Bill Mays). The evening promises to be a marvelous journey into the music and lyrics of the Great American Songbook. Copies of Catherine's releases will be available at the performance, and are available on-line at CDBaby.com; distributed by NorthCountry Distributors (http://www.cadencebuilding.com/ ).

Celebrating his latest release Quiet Now, world renowned guitarist Gene Bertoncini is "a great artist at the peak of his powers" (pianist Fred Hirsch). His fluid technique and lyricism have won him international praise and accolades as the "Segovia of Jazz." An eloquent and versatile improviser, Gene has been heard with an extraordinary range of jazz greats, including performances and recordings with Benny Goodman, Buddy Rich, Wayne Shorter, Hubert Laws and Paul Desmond, among others, as well as such distinguished singers as Tony Bennett, Lena Horne, Nancy Wilson, Vic Damone and Edye Gorme.

About Catherine Dupuis and Rules of the Road (2005) (arranged and conducted by Russ Kassoff, featuring, the Russ Kassoff Trio, Bucky Pizzarelli, Ted Nash, Marvin Stamm and Joe Cohn), Scott Yanow (All Music Guide) writes: "Although not overly famous, Catherine Dupuis shows on this CD that she is one of the most interesting jazz singers of the early 21st century. Her song selection is particularly strong, with a few standards performed in fresh ways and joined by vintage obscurities and newer material. "I've Never Been in Love Before" and "Lonesome Road" are reinvented. The Rules of the Road is highly recommended and a perfect introduction to the singing of Catherine Dupuis."

There is a $15 cover with a 1-drink minimum.
