GRETCHEN REINHAGEN UNCOVERED* & "REDEFINED"
Gretchen Reinhagen returns to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street,
NYC - 1-212-757-0788 -
http://www.donttellmamanyc.com/
) with 2 special no-cover-charge* encore performances of her 2006
show "Redefined" on Saturday March 3rd at 4:00 pm and Sunday, March
4th at 8:00 pm with her. She is joined once again by Musical Director
Steven Silverstein at the piano. A newcomer to the world of cabaret,
Reinhagen offers these complimentary encore performances as opportunity
to introduce herself to her fellow artists in the cabaret community
as well as cabaret audience members throughout the New York area.
"Redefined" debuted at Don't Tell Mama in April, with
repeat performances in October, and has continued to be redefined
along the way. What began as a one-night workshop performance in
2004 under the title of "Undefinable" has become a show that audience
members called "a redefining experience" and "one of their favorite
hours spent at Don't Tell Mama." Of Reinhagen, audience members
have said "pipes for days," "this gal is the real thing," and "twisted!...and
that's a good thing!" The score features something for everyone
with selections ranging from Annie Ross's "Twisted" to Kander &
Ebb's "The World Goes Round" to contemporary comedic hits such as
Christine Lavin's "What Was I Thinking". The score also features
two original songs by Musical Director Steven Silverstein.
While still fairly new to the world of cabaret, Reinhagen
is no newcomer to the stage. She received a degree in music from
Pepperdine University and has gone on to perform in venues ranging
from the House of Blues in New Orleans to the Assembly Rooms in
Edinburgh, Scotland. As an actress, she's enjoyed such roles as
Miss Hannigan in "Annie", Nancy in "Oliver", the Narrator in "Joseph..."
and Janis Joplin in "Beehive".
There a 2 drink minimum (cash only). NO COVER CHARGE.
