The Cafe Pierre's renowned singer/pianist Kathleen Landis teams up
with recent MAC Nominee Evan Stern at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West

) in a new show, "Let's Misbehave! A Jazz Era Romp" on Sunday
March 25th, Monday April 2nd and Wednesday April 11th for a music
fuelled journey through the Prohibition years. Guided by the songs
of Gershwin, Coward, and Berlin, the duo take the audience on a trip
back to the days when legends like Texas Guinan, Fats Waller, and
Louise Brooks dominated New York nightlife. The password required
for entrance is "swordfish".
Kathleen Landis has been playing piano and singing
at the Cafe Pierre since 1984. With her upbeat personality, expressive
green eyes and infectious laugh, Kathleen is totally involved with
those who come to see her. She welcomes requests, chats with customers
between sets, and is clearly happy to be where she is. a room here
burst of laughter and loud comments exist side by side with the
customers who are drawn into the Landis impressionistic style of
Debussy sliding into Gershwin, a spark of Cole Porter color, a dash
of Piazzola.
Evan Stern is the proud recipient of a 2006 MAC nomination
for Best New York Debut for his acclaimed show "Sentimental Journey,
Songs of the WWII Era." A native of Texas, Evan has appeared in
concert at the Chicago Humanities Festival, and twice at Lincoln
Center alongside such talents as Jim Dale, James Naughton, Lee Roy
Reams, Klea Blackhurst, and Steve Ross. His regional credits include
Ragtime, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Wit, A Christmas Carol, and Joseph
and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
