JACKIE SINGS OF MICHEL, MANDEL ... AND DAVE
Launching the celebration of her fifth year of performing in cabaret,
Jackie Draper will muse (musically, of course) about some of the influential
men in her show "Michel, Mandel ... and Dave (and other men in my
life)" at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATER (407 West 42nd

) on Sunday, April 22nd at 5:00 pm and Friday, April 27th at 7:00
pm. Musical director is Gregory Toroian and direction is by Helen
Baldassare. Eivind Opsvik is on bass.
The show includes a wide variety of songs in English
and French by Michel (Legrand), (Johnny) Mandel ... and Dave (Frishberg),
as well as other favorite song-writers (including Porter, Arlen,
Trenet, Shire, Pizzarelli). This is Jackie's seventh one-woman show.
Four have been celebrated at DON'T TELL MAMA, two at DANNY'S SKYLIGHT
ROOM. Jackie is thrilled to be performing in April at the LAURIE
BEECHMAN THEATRE.
Gregory Toroian, has been a pianist, arranger, educator,
and Musical Director, for over 25 years. He won a 2005 MAC award
for the series of shows he performed with Sue Matsuki: "Ten Years
in the Making."
Helen Baldassare is the founder/director of Cabaret
Performnace Workshop. She has won numerous awards, the MAC among
them, and has graced the stages of Off-Broadway, regional theatre,
summer stock, supper clubs and cabarets, here and abroad. She recently
appeared in the revival of the award-winning revue: "Monday in the
Dark with George" at the DUPLEX THEATRE in New York City.
There is a $15 Cover and a $15 food/drink minimum.
