) on Wednesday May 9th at 8:00 pm. The multi-instrumental, singing
suburban housewife sister duo come straight from the hills of Northern
Minnesota to share their rise to "fame," their family stories and
their own special take on the world today through original songs and
pop tunes. The show is created and written by Lori and Lisa Brigantino,
co-written with Carol Scudder with direction by Jerry Snee.÷
Native New Yorkers, Lori and Lisa Brigantino have
been performing together musically since they were children, but
created the characters of Vickie and Nickie just 4 years ago.÷ They
have performed The Vickie & Nickie Show in many different incarnations
and now the self-contained musical comedy team intertwines song
with dialogue that delves into the characters past and comments
on current events all while accompanying themselves on acoustic
guitars, keyboard, accordion, saxophone, violin, ukuleles and percussion.
Lori Brigantino (Vickie) has performed various versions
of The Vickie & Nickie Show with her sister, Lisa at several NYC
clubs including Upstairs at Rose's Turn, The Slipper Room and Freddy's
Back Room as well as a variety of benefits and fundraisers. Other
performing credits include:÷ The Last Nickel at The NYC International
Fringe Festival, Trials and Fibs at The Soho Playhouse Off-Broadway
and several Off-Off Broadway productions and independent films.
Lisa Brigantino (Nickie) is a classically trained composer and professional
musician who has received commissions to write for dance, theater,
television and film.÷ Her solo CD release "A Brooklyn Night" continues
to receive great reviews and airplay.÷ Lisa also tours internationally
with the all girl rock band, Lez Zeppelin, playing bass, keyboards
and mandolin.
Tickets are $10 with a 2-drink minimum.
