ANDREA MARCOVICCI RETURNS TO OAK ROOM WITH REQUEST SHOW

), Andrea Marcovicci returns for a limited engagement in a brand new
show, "just love ... By Request," Tuesday May 15th through Saturday
May 26th. While last year's show of the same title examined the fragility
of the human heart, this year's version focuses on Andrea's long association
with the Algonquin and New York City, and presents Andrea in her most
spontaneous, witty and off-the-cuff self. With Shelly Markham as Musical
Director and Jered Egan on bass, "just love ... By Request" will be
presented Tuesdays through Thursdays at 9:00 pm and Fridays and Saturdays
at 9:00 and 11:30 pm.
Andrea Marcovicci has sold out Carnegie Hall and Town
Hall, and has appeared in concert with numerous symphony orchestras
and at the White House. She has acted in films, television and theatre.
Co-stars include Danny DeVito, Woody Allen, Sir Michael Caine, Sir
John Gielgud and Sam Waterston, among others. She has created more
than 25 nightclub acts.
Adding audience requests to the shows's established
framework, Andrea will offer surprise selections as well as such
signature songs as "The Folks Who Live on the Hill," "Two for the
Road," "Send in the Clowns" and "The Kind of Love You Never Recover
From."
In recognition of Andrea's extraordinary achievements
and contributions in the world of Cabaret and allied arts, the Algonquin
will also dedicate The Marcovicci Suite, decorated with programs,
posters and other unique memorabilia of Andrea's distinguished career.
There is a $60 cover charge during the week and $65
weekends plus either a $25 minimum or $65 prix fixe dinner (dinner
is required early shows Friday and Saturday, with seating at 7:00-7:30).
