BROADWAY AT BIRDLAND PRESENTS "JIM CARUSO & FRIENDS"
On Monday, June 4th at 7 PM, Jim Caruso & Friends ... A One Man Show
will appear at BROADWAY AT BIRDLAND, joining the previously-announced
June roster of talents including Capathia Jenkins, Malcolm Gets, singer/songwriters
Tom Kitt & Amanda Green, Jack Donahue and Todd Londagin. Presented
by Jim Caruso's Cast Party and TheaterMania.com, the weekly series
of Sunday and Monday night concerts at 7:00 pm features top Broadway
stars and theater songwriters at the legendary BIRDLAND (315 West

Award-winning singer/comedian/host Jim Caruso brings
his act out of mothballs and into Birdland on June 4th with Johnny
Rodgers on piano and vocals. The show will feature songs by Johnny
Mercer, Weird Al Yankovich, John Wallowitch, Fred Ebb, Carol Hall,
Dave Frishberg, and will include an homage to Jim's personal hero,
Dick Van Dyke. There will be special surprise guests including The
Pirate Queen herself, Stephanie J. Block, plus shocking stories,
intertwined with Mr. Caruso's sharp witted and buoyant banter.
In addition to producing the highly successful Broadway
at Birdland series, for the past 5 years Jim has hosted Cast Party,
the extreme open mic night every Monday at Birdland. As a singer,
Jim is currently touring the planet with Liza Minnelli, celebrating
the music of Kay Thompson and the Williams Brothers. He has won
four MAC Awards and two Back Stage Magazine Bistro Awards for his
sold-out runs at The Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, The Russian
Tea Room, Carnegie Hall, and Arci's Place. He has appeared at Carnegie
Hall and in clubs throughout the US and in London as well as hosted
"Broadway On Broadway 2000" in Times Square; hosted the 2000 MAC
Awards, and co-hosted the 2003, 2004 and 2005 Drama Desk Awards
webcasts.
Caruso was the founding member of the jazz vocal and
comedy trio Wiseguys, appearing with Liza Minnelli in Las Vegas,
Atlantic City, the United Nations and Central Park, and with Rosemary
Clooney at Carnegie Hall. His popular debut CD is "Caruso Live and
In Person" (LML Music).
There will be a $30 cover, $10 food/drink minimum.
