Acclaimed UK jazz singer makes her NYC debut at THE ALGONQUIN OAK

) appearing from Tuesday June 26th through Saturday, July 7th. Performances
are at 9:00 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, with late night performances
at 11:30 pm on Fridays & Saturdays. Ms. Martin won the Best Vocalist
award for the 4th time at the 2002 British Jazz Awards and won her
5th Best Vocalist honor at the BBC Jazz Awards in 2003, where she
performed a dazzling duet with Jamie Cullum.
Little known in the United States, Claire makes a
grand leap across the pond. This engagement will showcase her acclaimed
new album "He Never Mentioned Love" featuring her originals and
songs by contemporary singer/songwriters. He Never Mentioned Love
is her 12th CD on Scotland's Linn Records, for which she has recorded
for 16 years. The CD features Claire's original, "Slowly but Shirley,"
which honors an idol and friend Shirley Horne.
There is a $60 cover and a $25 minimum. $65 dinner
minimum early shows Friday & Saturday.
