ROSE'S TURN BAR STAFF MOVES TO RITA MAE'S ON HUDSON
CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE EXCLUSIVE
As mentioned in John Hoglund's AFTER
DARK column of Monday July 23rd, Kathleen Deady has announced
that several members of the staff of the now closed ROSE'S TURN
will begin working shortly at the newly designed and renovated RITA
MAE'S PIANO BAR, located downstairs at RUBY FRUIT (531 Hudson Street,
NYC - 212-929-3343 - http://www.rubyfruitnyc.com/
). The official opening will be on Friday, August 3rd - more details
on the opening coming soon.
Construction will be completed this weekend to enclose
the lobby and the staircase for soundproofing. They are also going
to try to open the patio to provide a separate entrance for the
piano bar which is on the downstairs level. A piano (instead of
the current keyboard currently used) is being delivered in the next
few days.
At the same time, all of the tables in the downstairs
room have been replaced with smaller cocktail tables. Linens and
formal place-settings have been removed, giving it a more "piano
bar - informal" look and feel. Even the menu (yes, they will be
serving food here) is being changed to be more suitable to the concept.
You can get a preview of the new staff members this
week! Kimlee Hicks will be tending the upstairs bar this Thursday
and Friday, July 26th & 27th, from 3:00 to 8:00 pm. Traci Reynolds
will be tending the upstairs bar this Sunday, July 29th, from noon
to 8:00 pm, with Dan Daly filling in on piano for Jerry Scott this
Sunday, July 29th from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Brunch is served from 11:30
am to 4:00 pm and Michael Beau will be tending bar.
Clare Cooper will be at the piano in the new RITA
MAE'S PIANO BAR (downstairs) on Tuesday, July 31st from 8:00 to
11:00 pm. This happens to be the birthday of Allison, one of the
waitresses of the RUBY FRUIT restaurant upstairs. The bar will be
open so everyone is invited to stop by and check out the new space.
